A pan production cel from the Disney Studios animated film "Sleeping Beauty" (1959). Featuring the valiant and handsome Prince Phillip visibly upset with Samson knocking him into the stream, the hand-painted cel was created at the studio and used during the animation process. The cel is an actual frame of animation that was photographed and appears in the film. Remarkably the cel appears to be untrimmed, exhibiting the lengthy layout utilized to take advantage of the film's Super Technirama 70 presentation. Prince Phillip was designed and animated by the legendary Disney artist Milt Kahl, who worked tirelessly to make the character interesting and likable. Measuring 13.5"x21" overall, with the character image measuring 7.5"x16.5", the pan cel is in very good condition and has been paired with a color copy reproduction background for display purposes.
